On September 8, Acting Public Affairs Officer Roberto Quiroz II and Cultural Affairs Assistant Shamsa Suleiman joined Tanzanian hip hop artist Fareed Kubanda "Fid Q" at his weekly "Hip Hop Darasa" (Hip Hop Classroom) program in Dar es Salaam along with over 100 youth participants. Fid Q founded the program to mentor children, youth, and aspiring artists to promote their talent and education. The program also encourages youth to lift their voices through music and art and provide their own vision and contributions to their communities in partnership and teamwork with others.
Delivering over 100 books and basketballs on behalf of the American people to participants, Acting Public Affairs Officer Roberto Quiroz II noted: "We are taught by Fid Q the true meaning of success - to give back to the community with the knowledge that every single person has immense value and importance to ensure today's youth receive the mentorship and education so critical to their future success. As Ambassador Alfonso E. Lenhardt has said, an education is the one thing that is critical for success in today's global market. One of the United States' highest priorities is to promote education in Tanzania to ensure a free and prosperous future for the next generation of Tanzanian leaders - today's youth. We are honored to partner with Fid Q and his team in this noble and urgent endeavor."

In addition, he interacted with program participants and encouraged them to continue to develop their talents, skills, and determination to achieve their dreams. He also hosts "Fidstyle Friday," a weekly program to promote music and education.
