The landlord was travelling to a far country that he decided
to give talents to his servants that they might invest them and he would get
interest when he is back. Now they were three of them, to the first he gave
five denary, two for the second and one for the last servant and he went his
way. The first servant invested and multiplied his into ten denary, the second
also invested and multiplied his into four denary but the last servant hidden
his and just sited. Now when the landlord got back he called them and asked
“how did you invest the talents I entrusted you”? the first servant answered “Lord,
I invested and multiplied it, look I have got ten denary, then the second
servant also answered “Lord, I invested and multiplied it ,look I have got four
denary, the Landlord praised these two servants saying “good and faithful
servant ,you have been faithful with
little now I will entrust you with much” and he entrusted them much denarius, when
he came to the last servant he answered “Lord, I know you to be faithful that
you do not reap where you did not sow that I hidden your talent and sited look
now I have just what you entrusted me, the landlord answered him “poor and
unfaithful servant” and he withdrawn even that one denary and gave to the first
two servants.
Do you recognize that the Landlord represents God, the three
servants represent me and you while the talent represents strength and denary
means unit of money……?This is the most popular and influential story found in
the bible ,it is purposely told to teach us an important lesson on how to
invest the talents that He is entrusted us, so it is for us to do like the
first two servants who invested and multiplied theirs or like the last one who
hidden his and just sited.
IN LEADERSHIP, perhaps you have got the calling to be a
leader, you are influential and very persuasive, you can speak in public and
represent your family, ward, constituency or a nation, you can represent your
people in law making bodies, if that’s
not enough these people trust you and
they have voted for you as their representative. You might boast that you have
managed to be a leader on your own effort but I can assure you if it was not
for God to entrust you with that talent or strength you shouldn’t have been
voted for. So just like the two faithful servants who invested theirs, invest yours
too by faithfully performing your duties and responsibilities, don’t just sit
back like the poor servant.
IN ACADEMIC, you are bright, genius, clever, aware and
conscious. You people have managed to acquire an academic award, be it a
certificate, diploma or a university degree, it is naturally true that this
academic award is the result of your own effort and hard working but
supernatural speaking, all of your academic achievements have been
corresponding with God’s provision and He expect you to faithfully invest this
your talent in a positive way so he can entrust you with much just like he
dealt with the two faithful servants. Don’t fail him but just hiding your
talent and sitting back like the poor servant.
IN BUSINESS, you have the business administration skills, you
are knowledgeable about the stock market, you also have accounting skills, saving,
capital raising, negotiation skills and the customer service orient, from
supply chain to demand forecast you people have been a champion, that’s right
but where do you think u got all these business credentials from? One correct
answer is God gave them to you, why did God entrust you with them? One true
reason is, He wants you to faithful invest those skills and multiply them and
guess what he’s going do, he is going to entrust you with even much than he’s already
entrusted you just like he did for the two faithful servants. If you hide your
skills and sit back, God’s going snap that talent like how he snapped the last
servant’s and give it to the faithful ones.
IN ARTS, you sing, you rap, you act, you paint, you cave,
you sculpt and whatever you might be dealing with I call you an artist, you do
art like no one does it, whenever people need an artist your name runs fast
into their mind. Some of you think they learnt it others think they inherited
it from their parents who were once artists, all this might be true but somehow
they fail to figure it out that it is God who owns the world and everything
that is in it including me and you, just like the landlord he’s entrusted you
with that talent for one reason of faithfully investing and multiplying it so
he can get praise and glory when he’s revealed. Hey Mr. Artist make sure you faithfully invest that talent
of yours in a very positive way and you know how He’s going to deal with you
but shame on you if u hide your talent and sit back, you also know he deals with
people like you.
