WHO IS GADI RAMADHANI...?
Gadi Ramadhani is Tanzanian curator currently based in Dar es Salaam. Born, Tanzania and received NQF level 4 in Design Foundation and Printmaking from Artist Proof Studio, South Africa.
Gadi Ramadhani is the founder and artistic director of the Koko’TEN | Center for Curatorial Practice Tanzania. He is the co-jurors of the Emergent Art Space | Art Cross Boarder Competition 2012 in California.
Gadi Ramadhani collaborated with other cultural center like Godown Art Center, Nafasi Art Space, Goethe Institut Dar es Salaan, Kuona Trust, Dar es Salaam Alliance Françoise and also was one off the curator team for the selection of artists for the Fifth East Africa Art Biennale 2011 in Dar es Salaam. He is considered to be one of the youngest printmakers in East and Central Africa whose distinctive style always contained a concern for human issues and a reverence for natural beauty. . His art works are highly inspired by social dynamics that occur in his community.
“Additionally, I’m also inspired by visions that take place in my dreams and random concepts that have touched me” He said.
